Late last autumn, Eva Longoria listed her compound in Hollywood Hills West for $14 million. At around the same time, she picked up a Spanish contemporary in Beverly Crest for $13.5 million, a big, bright home that quickly made the Hollywood Hills West estate past tense for the busy actress.
Which is where Longoria would like to see the property, ownership-wise; hence a sizeable price cut that brings the ask down to $11 million, a just over 20% reduction for the listing.
Longoria has owned the home going on three years at this point, having quietly purchased it from Tom Cruise for $11.4 million in 2015. Cruise had owned the property for about a decade when he sold it; he apparently purchased it for about $10 million. So, the house hasn’t accrued value terribly well.
But it is an unusually attractive and very, very private home. Hightlights of the nearly three-acre property include architecture that voices Spanish, Italian and even a little French influence, a rustic mix of stone, timber and tile, and interiors which represent a modern take on a southern European living style. There are two houses on the lot.
The two homes collectively contain seven bedrooms and seven baths. Plaster walls, matte-finished wide-plank floors, and tongue-and-groove ceilings allow plenty of period feel to linger in the late-1930’s house. The exterior is remarkable, and features a gated entrance, sylvan wooded landscaping, and a knockout pool that meanders beneath a footbridge.
Longoria’s recent big-screen appearances include a starring role in this year’s hit film ‘Overboard’; she also appears in the upcoming ‘Dog Days.’
