As the crossover’s launch nears, Audi has finally pulled the curtain back on its 2019 Q8.
The German automotive brand’s new flagship crossover coupe features a sleek, four-door body, and promises the power and off-road capabilities of a large SUV. The two-row Q8 is a true crossover thanks to a shorter, lower, and wider design than the Audi Q7.
Inside, Audi’s crossover is equipped with SOTA tech, including a two-screen infotainment system and Virtual Cockpit. Passengers will also enjoy plenty of space: there’s room for more than just groceries in the spacious 62-cubic-foot cargo space when the back seats are folded down.
The Q8 features a mild-hybrid powertrain, which helps position it to compete with Mercedes-Benz’ GLE and BMW’s X6. While exact specification details aren’t yet available, the Q8 concept from last year’s Geneva Auto Show might provide a few clues. That vehicle utilized a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine paired with a 0.9-kWh lithium-ion battery to produce 469 horsepower.
Interested buyers can expect to see the Q8 in showrooms toward the end of this year.
