After a false start this winter, it seems that blockbuster film producer Jerry Bruckheimer has finally sold the Siskin House. When the dust settled, Mr. Bruckheimer had seen the home into the sunset for $11.5 million.
The home is located in Brentwood, and is a modern architectural piece of art of the International style, mixing Eastern, Western and industrial design cues. Architect Thornton Abell designed the house; it was constructed in 1956.
Sleek and angular, the magnificent seven-bedroom residence is crafted from steel and concrete and boasts beautiful amenities like tall ceilings, four fireplaces, and walls of glass allowing for floods of natural light. Most appealing is the balance that is struck with the home between extremely warm wood, concrete, and glass. The effect is one of profound liberation.
An eat-in kitchen, library with a skylight, and dedicated media room are standout spaces. Additionally, the property holds a separate guesthouse or studio space beside the swimming pool and spa.
Bruckheimer’s list of hit films is a long one. He is also a noted television producer, and is best known for his work on the “CSI” franchises and “The Amazing Race.” He purchased the home in 1994.
