German auto tuner G-Power‘s Typhoon conversions have become the standard by which other tuning kits are judged. Their latest entry in the Typhoon series brings the upgrades to the BMW X6 M, turning the performance series crossover into a track-inspired car that boasts track cosmetics and the juice to pull them off.
The M-Class’s Typhoon treatment brings in side rocker panels, a bespoke exhaust, new front and rear bumpers, and wider fenders. Customers can also opt to add the Venturi hood and carbon fiber diffuser. Both additions increase engine ventilation and aerodynamics. The car receives a GX6M-RS coilover suspension, and the upgraded jet black Hurricane RR alloys assist in handling.
Thanks to the hard work of BMW’s M-Division and a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, the X6 rolls out of the floor producing 567 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.
Now for the good part. The Typhoon package increases power production to 740 hp and 723 lb-ft of torque. New turbochargers, custom downpipes, and G-Power’s V3 ECU software help it along. The modified crossover can sprint the quarter-mile in only 11.5 seconds.
The full cost of the new Typhoon upgrades for the BMW X6 M is about $67K.
