Electric vehicle magnate Elon Musk has introduced Tesla‘s newest option for the 2020 Tesla Roadster.
Buyers of the newest Tesla Roadster will be able to opt for a special performance package, “SpaceX.” The luxury package honors Musk’s aerospace company and may very well pack some rocket-like power improvements.
Suffice it to say that the new package plays up the performance specs in a powerful way. When introducing the upcoming vehicle, Musk said, “It’s important for us to show with the Roadster that an electric vehicle can outperform a gasoline car in every way.”
If this Roadster is any indication, Musk might achieve his ambitious goal, though he largely already has. The vehicle will boast three electric motors and can sprint from zero to 60 mph in a whiplash-inducing 1.9 seconds. Oh, and it features a max speed of over 250 mph.
With such impressive specs, it might be appropriate to deem 2020 “The Year of the Electric Vehicle.”
If all goes well.
