“Empire” star Taraji P. Henson has broken even on the sale of her Chicago condo. This spring, the actress sold the unit for $1.429 million. She picked it up three years ago for $1.408 million.
The waterfront condo is located in the Streeterville neighborhood of Chicago. The 38th-floor unit measures 2,159 square feet, and holds three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The trapezoidal condo wows thanks to an entire wall of windows offering unparalleled views of the Navy Pier and Lake Michigan.
The interiors feature a nice sense of proportion, pleasing contrast, and a good measure of warmth. Dark hardwood floors flow through the open-concept living and dining space, and the fireplace presents a tonic for cold Chicago winters. The unit incorporates a glass-railed terrace.
Henson won an Oscar for her role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”; she also took home a Golden Globe in 2016 for her role as Cookie Lyon in the series “Empire.” She recently became engaged to retired NFL player Kelvin Hayden.
