Even though Rolls-Royce is known for building powerful, yet quiet luxury vehicles, the automaker’s new Dawn “Inspired by Music” is making some serious joyful noise.
The new convertible follows a Wraith of the same artistic temperament, and boasts a number of unique additions to the standard Dawn. Most particularly, a great deal of attention was paid to the vehicle’s Bespoke Audio system, which debuted at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Lake Como, Italy.
As a promotion, Rolls brought the musical Dawn into an anechoic sound-isolation chamber, and utilized a special microphone to record several of the vehicle’s sounds. They set the closing of a car door, the click of a turn indicator, and the whir of the ecstatic silver hood ornament moving into place. The British company then mixed classic instruments with the vehicle recordings to develop a uniquely entertaining soundtrack as a sales pitch.
The resulting video emphasizes the small sounds that contribute to the luxury automobile’s sense of style and personality. Drivers drawn to the melody will likely also be drawn to the Dawn’s attention to detail and high-end audio components. Music producers, take note.
