Actress Holly Hunter has placed her Brooklyn townhouse on the market for $4.5 million. Hunter picked up the 19th-century Italianate townhome for $3.3 million in July 2014.
The residence is located in Brooklyn’s historic Fort Greene neighborhood. It’s a four-story building, and boasts a number of classic architectural elements in addition to several modern upgrades.
Stretching to roughly 2,300 square feet, the townhouse allows for up to four bedrooms (depending on the configuration) and two baths. The home’s original detail is spectacular, and include five fireplaces with carved marble mantels, detailed plaster moldings, and inlaid wood floors.
Visitors and residents alike enter into a slim hall with a curving staircase before moving on to the living room and connected dining room. Although the kitchen is quite small, it’s accented with high-end appliances and a mix of white and green marble countertops.
Beyond the sunroom is a charming patio perfect for an alfresco meal that leads down to a fenced garden area. Additionally, there is a private 750-square-foot apartment on the garden level with its own bedroom and bath.
Hunter won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the 1993 drama The Piano.
