The Caribbean retreat of late singer-songwriter Prince is set to go to auction.
According to the artist’s estate, the Turks and Caicos island compound spanning more than five acres will go to the highest bidder. Prince frequently retreated to the island paradise as a source of relaxation and escape from his main Minnesota residence, which overlapped with business concerns.
The 10,000-square-foot home holds six bedrooms and 6.5 baths, and offers lovely views of the Atlantic Ocean through every window. The interiors of the Caribbean villa are expressed as rustic-luxe, with a great deal of raw wood, very high ceilings, and cooling stone floors. One of the most “Princely” features, though, is the private drive that leads up to it: it’s a purple road.
The “Purple Rain” -singer’s estate is accented with a number of luxe features, including a tennis court, a swimming pool, and a spa. Future residents will also enjoy access to the property’s two private beaches, and the 200-foot dock.
Prince was a seven-time Grammy-winning singer and songwriter. He died unexpectedly in 2016.
