Mercedes-AMG‘s GT coupe is available in four body styles, and the sedan comes with three varying body choices. Previously, the Mercedes-AMG Roadster only had GT and GT C variants available for customers, but now the brand has introduced a new drop-top style, the GT S Roadster.
The sporty convertible fits right in the middle of the GT Roadster lineup, and features several series upgrades. An electronically-controlled limited slip differential, adaptive suspension, and variable-sound exhaust all contribute to an improved driving experience, and further the evolution of the AMG GT.
Drivers can expect nearly the same look as the traditional GT, with the exception of new wheels. The drop-top necessitates 10-mm wider front tires and one-inch taller back wheels. Interior styling is the same as the GT.
The GT S Roadster receives the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine as the GT S. The engine produces 515 horsepower and 494 pound-feet of torque, resulting in a zero-to-60 mph leap of 3.7 seconds.
Pricing for the new Mercedes-AMG GT S Roadster has yet to be announced.
