Fredrik Eklund of “Million Dollar Listing New York” has switched from host to prospective seller: he recently listed his own New York City apartment for $6.5 million.
The reality television star’s very own “Million Dollar Listing” is an ultra-contemporary Tribeca apartment that he picked up for $5.426 million in 2016. The condo holds three bedrooms and four bathrooms, and boasts 50 linear feet over the Hudson.
Considering Eklund and his husband, artist Derek Kaplan, recently welcomed twins, it’s not surprising that the Bravo star is trading in what seems to be more of a bachelor pad for something a little more family-oriented.
Eleven-foot-high ceilings, white oak herringbone floors, and floor-to-ceiling windows with water views distinguish the interiors. The Manhattan unit also features an expansive open-concept floor plan which connects the main living and dining spaces in one fluid motion. The kitchen stands out in particular, with slabs of white Italian marble giving it a grandiose feel.
In the master suite, more marble: a shower in slab, and, more strikingly, a 3,000-pound bathtub cut from a single piece. Substantial.
Eklund has been a featured broker on Bravo’s reality program “Million Dollar Listing New York” for six seasons.
