Luxury automaker Jaguar is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its flagship XJ Series vehicle with the introduction of the XJ50.
When it first hit the streets in 1968, the Jaguar XJ Series sedan made a huge impression, quickly becoming the face of the brand. Which explains why the carmaker has created a limited-edition model in honor of the vehicle’s anniversary. But fifty years of advancements in automaking technologies resulted in what is an acute expression of the history of the model. The fastback roofline might be the most attractive ever designed.
Available only in long-wheelbase form, the XJ50 boasts two engine setups: a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 and a 5.0-liter supercharged V8. Drivers can expect 340 horsepower from the V6 and 470 horses from the rear wheel drive V8.
In addition to unique front and rear bumpers, the special-edition vehicle features a glossy black front grille and 20-inch wheels with the same finish. Customers can select between a number of unique exterior colors, including Fuji White, Rosello Red, Loire Blue, and Santorini Black.
The XJ50’s interior matches the exterior’s luxe styling with diamond-quilted seats, aluminum paddle shifters, and XJ50-badged door sills.
