Jeff Weiner, the CEO of LinkedIn, is looking to update his real estate profile with a downsize. This month, Weiner listed his Silicon Valley mansion for $9.988 million.
The professional networking website executive picked up the Menlo Park, California, manse for $5.3 million in 2010. If the home sells for anywhere near its asking price, Weiner will nearly double his investment.
Built in 1949, the Colonial Revival residence is contemporary and chic without an overwhelmingly excessive air of opulence. The property is set along the sought-after Peninsula, and welcomes with a warm and inviting feel.
The home’s facade sneakily belies the expansive interior, looking fairly modest and chaste from outside. The foyer immediately offers a winged layout, though, and the home rambles away to 7,230 square feet. Nicely contrasted hardwood floors, softening arches, and more than one surprise distinguish the unusual design.
Amenities are numerous, but largely circumspect. No home theater here, but the sauna’s a beaut, and the gym and wine cellar strike the right note as grown-up essentials. The master suite features a creative workspace, a sanctuary bath, and a private deck accessible via French doors.
Classic, refined styling and easy living continue outside, with several lounge spaces, an outdoor dining area, and a built-in grill. There are also opportunities for family fun on the children’s playground or out in the swimming pool. A detached 241-square-foot guesthouse, which can also serve as a studio space, finishes a look at this unusually fine property.
Weiner has been with LinkedIn since 2008. He arranged the sale of the company to Microsoft in 2016 for $26 billion.
