Walk a little faster. It’s April in Paris.
French fashion house Louis Vuitton has introduced a new capsule collection just in time for the start of summer. And the items look as genially happy-go lucky and springtime-optimistic as can be.
The playful new items include purses and wallets with names like Speedy and Neverfull, which appeal to the child within as she careens toward the threshold of warm weather and liberation. Both are available in Damier Azur and Monogram.
Overall, the new collection plays with tradition in unusual ways, with new prints added to the brand’s classic canvases for a collage effect. Homage to the Marc Jacobs era is evident, and the capsule collection is more adventurous than LV’s current look. Each of the illustrated designs changes in style and color depending on the background color of the bag. But each piece is unified by the style inspiration of LV’s fundamental: the Trompe L’oeil trunks.
Louis Vuitton’s new illustrated designs are pricier than their traditional counterparts, but each bag presents a distinct identity of its own. Can you spot yours?
