Scott Disick—formerly associated in the most direct way with the Kardashian version of the comedie humaine—is continuing to self-educate on real estate market. Disick’s latest score is this heavily renovated early 1970’s suburban clunker, modified into a fairly interesting specimen of domesticated Hidden Hills residential life.
What hijacks the attention immediately when taking in this particular 5,000 square-foot ranch is the wildly overblown portico entrance, an emphatic statement of revision if ever there was one. The home’s second floor is clearly an add-on, while below the hunkered-down bay window, brick accents, and roof overhangs reveal the home’s stylistic history. Overall, the combination makes an interesting text.
Inside, the rambling, open-concept living spaces don’t so much harken back to the days of harvey wallbangers and Three Dog Night, and instead present a nice sense of liberation. The equestrian-oriented surroundings are paid homage, with much of this part of the home at least half-rusticated; the stone fireplace/accent wall that divides living and family rooms is quite beautiful, the vaulted ceilings give a good sense of proportion, and the antiqued hardwood floors and exposed beams make for a nice contrast to the off-white and the wrought iron accents.
The property extends to a little more than 1.3 acres, and incorporates some very nice landscaping streetside, and an extended pool/sunlounge/patio area in back which is tailor made for expert entertaining.
