The magnificent Montecito, California manse of late Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider has found a buyer with $35 million. The home had been listed with an asking price of $52 million following Snider’s death.

The property sold at more than a 30% discount, a considerable reduction that adds up to eight figures in this price range. The recent sale of the neoclassical villa currently holds the record for priciest Montecito listing in years.

The large Italian-inspired main home stretches to 21,300 square feet and holds eight bedrooms. Interiors traverse territory as diverse as romantic, modern, and rustic Mediterranean. Views from the property are stunning, giving the home a context and a beautiful sense of continuation.

The 9.4-acre property is marvelously expansive, with very formal landscaping and garden design. Extensive entertaining spaces that include a pavilion with a wet bar, and a swimming pool with a cabana, a tennis court, and a separate two-bedroom guest home fill out the grounds.

Residents will also be neighbors to celebrity movers-and-shakers Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey.
