Jeremy Piven has been trying to sell a home in Malibu since last spring, when he listed it with an asking price of $10.5 million. The beachfront house hasn’t budged from its available market status, though, so Piven’s given the ask a considerable trim, knocking it down to $9 million in advance of an open house.
Renovations have added size and modern design flourishes to the original Malibu beach cottage, so the home has the look of a modified original. It works well, though, as it has been opened up to such an extent that the interiors have a wildly optimistic feel. A good measure of original charm brings a sense of individuality to the mix, and offers a few eccentric surprises.
The oceanfront side of the home extends to three levels. The first level is an extravagant living space, a sprawling open-concept area that features support columns, a tile floor, recessed fixtures, and sculpted ceiling accents. Sliding glass doors open onto a wraparound deck.
The four bedrooms are scattered across all three floors, with the master incorporating a bath with inset river stone accents and a private deck accessed via a sliding glass door. The home’s warm, simple kitchen, media and entertainment room, and fitness room and studio fill out a profile of the interiors.
Piven’s role in the HBO hit series ‘Entourage’ brought him three Emmy Awards. His more recent series, the CBS drama ‘Wisdom of the Crowd,’ was canceled by the network late last year.
