If the standard version of the track-inspired McLaren Senna doesn’t dazzle amply already, check out the extreme-driving drama of the Carbon Theme upgrade for the model.

The British automaker announced five of special-edition model variants at the recent 2018 Geneva Auto Show, but the unique Senna with a special carbon-fiber package was the only one of five to actually make a physical appearance. Why?

Because dazzle, it does. McLaren stripped back most of the bright Solar Yellow paintwork to reveal a dynamic carbon-fiber weave beneath a glossy clear-coat finish. McLaren Special Operations also utilized 67 separate pieces of the very light, very expensive material to assemble the vehicle’s aggressive body.

In addition to bursts of yellow, the Carbon Theme Senna boasts brake calipers and door struts in Lauren Green. The interior features a carbon fiber steering wheel, center tunnel, and dash. Finally, Carbon Black Alcantara and Senna S logos on the headrests complete the look. But all that self-conscious cosmetic strutting still can’t overshadow the roaring twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 789 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque.

The 500 examples of the McLaren Senna have been pre-sold. An undisclosed number of customers ponied up the roughly $414,000 for the Carbon Theme upgrade.
