A few months ago, Former national security advisor for the Trump administration Michael Flynn put his townhome in Washington, D.C. up for sale. The price of the property has now been reduced.
The reason for the sale may be simple: the accumulating legal expenses Flynn is currently contending with assumed significant proportions before he pled guilty in December.
Flynn has owned the residence in Old Town Alexandria for a little more than five years; he paid $775K for the three bedroom, three bath home in 2012. The current asking price of the home is $835K, although it had been listed at $850K in December.
The slightly more than 2,100 square-foot home dates to 2005. The exterior architectural cues are largely Federal, with an ornamental arch embellishing the entrance.
The interiors are toned cool, with soft grey used liberally throughout. The spaces are pretty compact, but comfortable, and the townhouse layout is always pleasing. The kitchen features black granite countertops, and the dining room a built-in cabinet. The bedrooms get a fair amount of the square footage, with the master featuring a private sitting room. It looks like the third floor contains at least one of the two additional smaller bedrooms.
Flynn resigned his position after less than a month on the job, later pleading guilty to a felony count of lying to the FBI when questioned about Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election.
