Justin Timberlake Lists His Old Manhattan Penthouse for $8M After Trading Up to a $20M One

About nine months have passed since Justin Timberlake bought into an upper floor of uber-flashy 433 Greenwich; on the other hand, it’s been about eight years since he picked up a unit in Soho Mews, about six or eight blocks south. It seems the southern penthouse is now surplus, and it’s on the market with an asking price just south of the $8 million border.

The $20 million ante for a penthouse residence at 433 Greenwich may be spurring the sale. Soho Mews hadn’t performed particularly well in its first flush of marketing and sales, but, by the time Timberlake picked up his 2,600 square-foot unit, he’d fared well: his purchase price was $6.58 million.

The three-bedroom, four-bath condo is a single floor unit. Soho Mews layouts are exceedingly pleasant; they riff on the almighty loft-style without slipping into slavish imitation, and they use a great deal of warm wood to express themselves. Fixtures err on the side of minimal. Like many upscale high-rise developments of recent years, the unit’s dress sense is to find context in natural texture, slightly puritanical obsessive-compulsion, and the city life rippling beyond the abundant glass.

The exterior of the unit features a pretty extensive wraparound terrace: 853 square feet.

Timberlake appears in Woody Allen’s latest film ‘Wonder Wheel’; the film co-stars Kate Winslet. His ‘Man of the Woods’ tour launches this month.
