Actor and musician Billy Bob Thornton has listed a residence in Malibu on the open market. Thornton is asking $2.3 million for the property, which is situated in a gated community and measures about 2,670 square feet.
Thornton purchased the residence a little more than a decade ago, for $2.35 million. The aggressive pricing should stimulate a quick sale.
The modern-style architecture features contemporary overtones. The exterior is defined by poured concrete, glass, and a smattering of Japanese influence.
Inside? Wide-open. The common area is possessed of a very satisfying sense of continuation, with a glass-enclosed staircase centering the room. A vaulted ceiling, recessed lighting, marble tile floors, and plenty of glass help carry and enhance the optimism.
The kitchen brings some cool toning into the picture. Washed-out periwinkle blue adds a nice contrast. The marble-capped island features a raised glass dining bar, a nice touch.
The home’s contains four bedrooms and three baths. The master features a private balcony with canyon and mountain views.
The home is located at the end of a cul-de-sac, giving it a very private feel. The .3-acre lot features artful landscaping that gives the property additional character.
Thornton’s turn as sociopath Ray in 1992’s hard-boiled ‘One False Move’ still packs a wallop. More recently, he played the lead in the upcoming adaptation of Amis’s ‘London Fields’; when the film will finally be released, though, remains a matter of rumor and surmise.
