Actor Charlie Sheen has listed his longtime Beverly Hills house. Sheen has called the Mediterranean-style home for well over a decade, having purchased it in 2006 for a little over $7 million. It is currently listed at a whisker under $10 million: $9,999,999, a charmed price contrivance if ever there was one.
The house is substantial. At very close to 9,000 square feet, and situated on a nearly half-acre of Beverly Hills real estate, it’s priced to sell. It is situated in the Mulholland Estates, and dates to 1992.
From the front, the architecture is more or less idealized Italianate: symmetry, stone, warm-toned stucco, wrought iron, Juliet balconies, and a grand double-door front entrance flanked by a quartet of columns that suggest dramatic scale.
Inside, though, the home is a study of easygoing comfort and luxury, with a much less pretentious sense of itself than the façade might indicate. It’s fairly mainstream, doing the creature-comfort thing very well; the standout space is the master suite, which is set up with a dumbwaiter, private screening room, wet bar, a sitting room that’s proportioned like a second living room, and the expected oversized master bath and walk-in closet.
The home’s game/entertainment room with wet bar, and Creston home cinema, allow plenty of room to stretch out; the property exterior features a pair of pools (one for exercising, one for recreating), an outdoor kitchen, and privacy-oriented landscaping.
Sheen’s recent screen appearances include the film ‘9/11’; the movie was released last year, and is an adaptation of the play ‘Elevator.’
