Mercedes drivers may recognize the name Brabus; the company built its reputation refining AMG and Mercedes cars. Well, the automotive tuner has joined creative forces with Finland’s Axopar Boats to come up with this limited-edition tender.
The 36-foot-9-inch Shadow 800 boasts a sleek and masculine build with plenty of space for visitors. Extensive use of carbon fiber, and stainless steel accents, give the luxe vessel its high-end feel. The craft is swathed in a stealthy black finish, and bears the Brabus design hallmarks of understated drama and an almost militantly aggressive feel.
The Shadow features a retractable hardtop. A Fusion entertainment system, and a 42-inch LB TV belowdecks provide diversion en route. The captain may helm in comfort in red Sunbrella Silvertex cockpit seats, and a Garmin electronics package keeps the boat on point.
But, this is a Brabus, and the Shadow 800 has plenty of power under its figurative hood: a pair of 400 hp Mercury Verado engines provide the thrust. Paired with a perfectly crafted deep-V twin-stepped hull, the engines push the watercraft beyond 50 knots. The Shadow boasts a 250-nm range when cruising at 35 knots.
Axopar Boats and Brabus’ vessel is currently available, but the initial production run will be limited to 20 examples. The starting price is a little less than $500,000.
