Olympic alpine skier Linsey Vonn has sold her Los Angeles home for $3.65 million. Vonn’s former home is nestled in the Beverly Grove neighborhood. Far from any snowy slopes, and very far from Pyeongchang.
The home spans 4,000 square feet with four bedrooms and 3.75 bathrooms. Its poured concrete exterior walls present a potently contemporary if ponderous first impression; the house dates to 2016, and looks its vintage.
Inside, the layout feels liberated: open and bright. A glass-enclosed entry with a magnificent floating staircase sets the theme, and expands to an open-concept floor plan containing a large living room with a fireplace, and a custom Miton kitchen with a wood-trimmed island. A dining area and office fill out the common areas. Materials and flourishes include Porcelanosa tile, custom blown-glass fixtures, and glass walls.
The sleek, modern aesthetic continues to the backyard, where a zero-edge swimming pool with decking offers a peaceful refuge. There’s also a 400-square-foot front terrace with a fire pit.
Vonn held the title of World Cup champion from 2008 to 2010; she held the title again in 2012. She is a two-time Olympic medal winner.
