BMW has introduced new details of its much-anticipated 2019 BMW X4. The 2019 iteration boasts a sleeker, wider, lower, and longer build than earlier models, continuing the well-defined evolution.
The design language of the incoming model arises to some extent out of BMW’s modular and sneakily efficient CLAR platform, with a fastback roofline and an updated rear build that’s concise without looking clipped; there’s a little of the 8-series concept in the back-end brevity. The front end features a softening of angles that eases the overt aggression of the 2019, keeping it in line with the youthful X3.
The X4 breaks down into xDrive30i and M40i sub-variants, with both boasting enough power to keep thrills on tap for the daily drive. The 2.0-liter inline-four of the 30i makes 248 hp; the turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six producing 355 hp for the M40i. Both sub-variants feature all-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Last but not least, the X4’s interior. The X4 that now arises out of the CLAR platform has increased legroom front and back. Tech upgrades include a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment and navigation system, as well as a safety suite that includes a forward-collision-warning system.
The 2019 BMW X4 is available starting at $51,445 for the 2.0-liter xDrive30i, and at $61,445 for the 3.0-liter M40i.
Available this July.
