After seeing it into pending status last December, musician Adam Levine has definitively sold his property in Holmby Hills for $18 million. The home may have been a flip for Levine; if it was, it wasn’t a terribly successful one. The Maroon 5 lead singer and judge for ‘The Voice’ picked it up for $18 million about six months ago. The home had been listed at $18.9 million prior to the recent sale. Perhaps just a change of heart, then.
Levine listed the home along with another property he’s been trying to sell for well over a year. That home—a 7,100 square-foot 1940’s ranch on 3.7 acres of grounds landscaped with desert flora—remains for sale at $15.9 million.
One down, one to go. The outgoing house is a French Regency-style dating to 1966; stylistically, it’s a pretty formal exercise, with more than a few aristocratic tropes thrown into the mix. Chandeliers and doorways are very ornate. Offsetting the formality, though, are built-ins, an emphasis on natural light, and a fairly simple fireplace, which all help to keep the interiors down-to-earth. A solarium acts as a dayroom, and is one of the most appealing spaces in the home.
With the guest house, the total living area stretches to 9,200 square feet, with five beds and 5.5 baths throughout. A stylized pool and sunlounge, cabana, tropical gardens, and an enclosed, landscaped boardwalk fill out the 1.2 acres. The property borders the L.A. Country Club.
In November, Maroon 5 released its sixth studio album, ‘Red Pill Blues.’ The band is currently on tour in North American in support of the record.
