T-Mobile CEO John Legere recently put his Manhattan penthouse on the market for $22 million.
There are a number of truly unique NYC properties, but few boast such classic styling and personality as Legere’s penthouse. The special four-bedroom, four-bath home spans more than 3,000 square feet and is located in 91 Central Park West.
Timeless features like herringbone flooring, detailed woodwork, stained glass windows, and a carved Elizabethan oak fireplace set the unit apart from anything else on the market. In addition, the sale comes with a pre-approved expansion.
Legere was able to successfully petition the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, which has allowed for the building’s roof to be incorporated in the expansion. This addition would add about 2,246 square feet of exterior space to the already expansive unit.
The future owner would have the choice of continuing the project or moving in a different direction. Of course, you also can’t ignore the 1,700 square feet of terrace space and the tower lounge with 14.5-foot ceilings and a handmade wooden bar.
Another interesting factoid: It’s believed that journalism magnate William Randolph Hearst and mistress Marion Davies used to live in the incredible NYC unit.
