“Girls” star Jemima Kirke recently listed her Brooklyn home for $4.495 million.
Following her separation from husband Michael Mosberg, Kirke is looking to move on from her quirky-luxurious NYC brownstone. The more than 100-year-old home is located in Brooklyn’s Carroll Gardens neighborhood, and spans four stories. It holds three to five bedrooms and 3.5 baths across 3,360 square feet.
Kirke paid just $2.036 million for the townhouse in September 2013. Since that time it has undergone extensive restoration by architect Richard H. Lewis. The home is undeniably eccentric, with a very warm, 19th-century aesthetic set off by a series of special touches: antique crystal chandeliers, French moldings, reclaimed oak cabinetry, wrought iron, and Italian marble mantelpieces top the list.
Future residents will enter via the garden-level ground floor with a dedicated mudroom, an additional family/living room or art studio, a potential guest or staff bedroom, and a bathroom. The top floor features two more bedrooms, a storage or nursery space, and a hall bath.
The main living spaces are located just above street level with an open-concept kitchen, dining, and living space boasting sky-high ceilings, blonde parquet floors, and a fireplace. The second floor is dedicated entirely to the expansive master suite, with a dressing room, a claw-footed soaking tub, and an Art Deco-style pass-through bathroom nourishing the heady fin-de-siecle atmosphere.
Exterior spaces on the property inlcude a roof deck with views of lower Manhattan, and a small backyard with covered terrace.
