Ex-couple Jane Fonda and Richard Perry recently accepted an offer on their home in Beverly Hills. The pair listed the Trousdale Estates house in January of last year and, after seeing it through a year on the market, a shadow above $8.5 million probably didn’t seem unreasonably far from the $10 million they were looking to find. They purchased the property in 2012, for $7.3 million, and initially listed it at $13 million.
The 7,100 square-foot modern-style is all angles, glass, and grays from a streetside perspective, with exposed beams adding some character to the emphasis on strident line and utility.
The home’s wide-open interiors present a complete contrast to the somewhat brutal exterior, though, with a great deal of warmth and a lot of color; check out the landing staircase that ascends from yellow, through blue, to red, voicing individuality in the process.
Texture is achieved via integrated woodgrains and natural stone, with the floors standing out very well. The home’s interior uses a lot of glass to demarcate with transparency—and that includes the elevator—and keeps walls white, so the interiors are awash with abundant natural light.
The interior was renovated using sustainable materials, and power is augmented by both active and passive solar. The home contains four bedrooms and 6.5 baths; the master suite features a private sitting room.
The property exterior presents fine views from the slate-floored terrace and balcony, a heated pool, and a meditation garden.
Jane Fonda has taken home the Academy Award for Best Actress twice; in 1971, for ‘Klute,’ and in 1978, for ‘Coming Home.’ Golden-eared Richard Perry produced a long string of hit records for the likes of Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, and Ringo Starr.
