National sensation and airline pilot/hero Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger recently listed his San Francisco Bay area home for $1.6 million.
Located 30 miles from San Francisco in the suburb of Danville, Sully’s family home was built in 1995. The 3,409-square-foot residence holds five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and an overall feeling of welcoming and warmth.
The retired career pilot’s inviting home is set on a hilltop at the end of a cul-de-sac and offers sprawling views of the pastoral hillside. The interior space boasts a series of modern upgrades, a welcoming open-concept living/dining room configuration, and a large contemporary kitchen.
The backyard is built for entertaining, and features a series of patios, an outdoor kitchen with a BBQ, a gazebo, a beach-entry lagoon-style pool, and a spa.
Sully was flung into the spotlight in 2009, after safely landing a commercial plane on the Hudson River following dual engine failure, and saving the lives of all 155 passengers on board in the process. He was portrayed by Tom Hanks in Clint Eastwood’s 2016 film “Sully.”
