Wireless earbuds are fast replacing traditional headphones and wired setups in the esteem of consumers. And, why not. They’re discreet, they’re liberated from physical source connection, and digital fidelity technology has them sounding astonishingly engaging.
Sony‘s new sports-oriented wireless set, the WF-SP700N, boasts an IPX4 rating to ensure the tech isn’t harmed by moisture and sweat when users are working out. Additionally, Sony has also included noise cancellation technology, making them the first true wireless water-resistant sports earbuds of their kind.
In addition to offering advanced audio performance with vivid highs and solid bass production, the earbuds also have an ambient sound mode. This means wearers can let in a little bit of outside noise while listening to music, making it an added safety feature for runners, and a solid choice for the conversational vicissitudes of a day at the beach.
Sony’s new earbuds come with a case that enables both a 15-minute quick charge for a short workout, or two full charges providing up to three hours of battery life per charge.
Set to ship this spring, Sony’s new WF-SP700N wireless earbuds are available in black, white, yellow, rose gold/gray, and are priced at $180.
