“House of Cards” actress Molly Parker has realized $999,000 in the sale of her Echo Park home. The property went into contract quickly: it hit the market in the last days of November.
The property also sold significantly above its listing price. The Los Angeles-area bungalow was priced at $899,000 at the time of the sale, so Parker made quite the profit, seeing the house off at $100,000 over ask. The actress paid $577,000 for the property back in 2004, making a fine return on the investment.
Built in 1923, the 1,300-square-foot Spanish-style home is updated with a number modern amenities; small, yes, but a charmer if ever there was one. Set high up off the street, the two-bedroom, one-bath home features a bright white living room, a galley-style kitchen, and a breakfast nook.
Luxe features like original hardwood floors, skylights, painted ceiling beams, and a Midcentury fireplace give the little house a unique style all its own. The master bedroom is especially appealing, with a reading nook and French doors that open to a wrap-around balcony.
Parker’s former home also boasts a quaint artist studio. The lush backyard and gardens are bordered by detailed landscaping.
