Mariners shortstop Jean Segura has settled in in Seattle with the purchase of his $4.45 million home.
The sale shouldn’t come as much of a surprise: the Dominican-born baseballer recently signed a $70-million, five-year contract with the Seattle Mariners. The infielder’s new home is located a few miles outside the city of Bellevue, Washington.
The Pacific Northwest contemporary stretches to 6,394 square feet, with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms throughout. The home boasts mixed materials, using wood and concrete extensively. A massive, 18-foot crystal chandelier gives it a touch of outright extravagance, and an aesthetic all its own.
The chandelier is located in the middle of an awe-inspiring central staircase crafted from wood and glass. The contemporary styling continues throughout to the main living spaces, and elements like floor-to-ceiling windows and four decks give the home a continual sense of interior/exterior flow.
Additional features like a wine room, media room, gym, three-car garage, and a lounge with a wet bar also provide extra comfort. The master suite boasts its own fireplace and private deck.
Segura played for the Los Angeles Angels, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Arizona Diamondbacks before finding his home with the Mariners in 2016.
