Iconic Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has introduced a beautiful new special edition timepiece in honor of one of its classic watch models, the Royal Oak Offshore.
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph 25th Anniversary watch celebrates a quarter-century of production of the brand’s signature timepiece. The new design moves away from the original oversized sports-style watch in favor of a much more daring aesthetic, one that highlights the continuing appeal of the model as it has evolved through the years.
The original Offshore was created in 1993 by Emmanuel Gueit and quickly became a classic among watch lovers and celebrities alike. The radical redesign shows off the spirit of iconoclasm which defined the original, with a new open-worked face and a skeletonized dial.
The 45mm case comes in both stainless steel and 18K pink gold; both variants boast Audemars Piguet’s hand-wound caliber 2947 movement, in addition to black ceramic crowns and pushpieces.
Each iteration of the new Royal Oak Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph will be limited to just 50 examples. The stainless steel model is available for $292,541, and the pink gold edition is priced at $333,661.
