President Trump’s sister Maryanne Trump Barry is marketing her beachfront home in Palm Beach, Florida for a whopping $24 million. Barry—the elder sibling between the two—has owned the property for about thirteen years, and paid $11.5 million for the 8,300 square-foot house on 194 feet of prime white sand beach. The home was an investment property for Ms. Barry.
The house dates to 1956, and features architecture that references French and traditional influences. It contains eight bedrooms and eleven baths. The interiors are a pleasing blend of warm and cool tones. The home opens with an emphasis on formality, with crown moldings, high-gloss stone floors, and a sweeping staircase.
But, going a little deeper into its depths, the effect tends to fall away into Floridian insouciance and fairly intense cottagey charm. The open-air sunroom is very appealing. Elsewhere, the library/home office, with an accent-lighted tray ceiling, is also rendered well, if brightly, and the second-floor master suite, with private balcony and terrace, sums up Florida coastal living—weather permitting—in a few hundred square feet.
The property exterior includes a patio, pool, and landscaping that emphasizes grooming over a lush tropical effect.
Barry is presently an inactive Senior United States Court of Appeals Judge for the Third Circuit. She was made senior in 2011, and became inactive in February of this year.
