A Toronto house which was at one time rented by actress and future royal Meghan Markle has sold, and sold quickly. Associated with Markle’s storybook romance with Prince Harry—and helped along by a price that was, all things considered, fairly competitive—the house Markle called home for two years spent only one week on the market before it was snapped up for $1.1 million CAD, against a $1.4 million CAD asking price.
The home is located in the West End of the city, in Seaton Village. It’s a fairly nondescript house: three bedrooms, two floors, about 2000 square feet, and a streetside façade that is entirely unassuming.
Within, the emphasis is on residential functionality, despite the rose-cheeked broker-speak used to describe it. A good sense of space and a modern-influenced interior architecture are the highlights of the home; interiors are also bright and fairly airy, with natural-finished plank hardwood and white walls taking best advantage of reflected light. The kitchen opens to the rear of the property, revealing a small suburban expanse of flagstone and hedges.
Markle rented the home during her tenure on USA Network series ‘Suits’; the actress and Prince Harry met during the period, and announced their engagement this year. Markle, who has spent seven seasons on ‘Suits,’ stated that she intends to leave the program after the current season, and end her acting career.
