This month, luxury automaker Aria unveiled its first-ever production vehicle, the FXE, at the L.A. Auto Show.

The California-based automotive design company is best known for contributing to the design of vehicles like the 2009 Tesla Model S concept and the Singer 911. Now all that design and engineering knowledge has culminated in the company’s own US-made supercar, a serious looking piece of machinery with a strong sense of individuality.

The hypercar is powered by a hybrid powertrain composed of dual front-mounted electric motors attached to a 10-kWh battery, in addition to a huge, 6.2-liter supercharged V8. All that power results in a whopping output of 1,150 hp and 1,316 lb-ft of torque, with a max speed of 220 mph. Aero is as dynamic as you’d expect, considering the amount of power involved.

Aria’s FXE is nice to look at as well with a sleek aesthetic that can easily keep up with iconic supercar brands like Porsche, Ferrari, and McLaren, while blazing its own path. The vehicle is styled with a number of carbon fiber elements, and presents a sporty and aggressive feel thanks to aerodynamic slashes and bare headlamps.

Interested customers should expect to pay more than $1 million for the new supercar. Fewer than 400 Aria FXE examples will be produced.

Deliveries are expected in 2019.
