Japanese technology company Panasonic has added a new mirrorless camera to its Lumix G Camera lineup.

The G9 shooter was designed with professional photogs in mind, and features an advanced version of the sensor found in the brand’s GH5 camera. The new flagship for Panasonic’s photographic lineup is equipped with a number of slick pro-grade additions that make it stand out respectably from the offerings of high-end competitors like Leica.

In addition to the world’s fastest autofocus, the Lumix G9 boasts Panasonic’s High Resolution mode and a 20.3-megapixel Live MOS sensor. Thanks to the High-Resolution mode, image quality is upped to 80 MP. The camera is able to capture both RAW and JPEG format images.

Panasonic’s G9 is equipped with a Body Image Stabilizer to reduce shake and Three-dimensional Color Control for increased brightness and saturation. Photographers will also appreciate the 3.68 million dot OLED Live View Finder with a 0.83x magnification ratio.

The GH5’s considerable talent is housed in a magnesium alloy body that’s dustproof and splashproof, good news for journalists.

Available to pre-order now, Panasonic’s Lumix G9 body price starts at $1,699.99 and will ship next month.
