When it comes to high-end accessories, homage can be a tricky business. From heavy-handed to just plain ridiculous, the less successful entries really stand out. However, in the case of Romain Jerome‘s Skylab Batman Watch, the watchmaker made all the right choices.

The special collaboration between DC Comics and the luxury watch brand resulted in the creation of the special-edition Skylab timepiece. The unique watch boasts a 48mm, stainless steel, black PVD case; in addition, it packs double AR-coated sapphire crystals. But it’s the strip-down Gothic look of the piece that manages to carry the spirit of Batman and his dark world.

The watch front bears a semi-skeletonized look complete with a sleek outline of the Bat-signal, while the caseback shows off a beautiful rendition of the map of Gotham City. Inside, the luxurious watch is powered by a Swiss manual-wind Romain-Jerome caliber RJ004-M with up to 98 feet of water resistance and 48 hours of power reserve.

Complete with 21 jewels and paired with a black alligator strap, the Dark Knight-inspired timepiece is limited to just 75 examples. It is available for $19,500.
