Screenwriter and playwright Liz Meriwether just scooped up a Los Angeles-area home for $4.125 million.

The “New Girl” creator’s new digs formerly belonged to “Monk” star Tony Shalhoub and his wife, actress Brooke Adams. Dating to 1922, the Windsor Square home boasts a Mediterranean Revival style and is set on about a third of an acre.

The 4,400-square-foot residence boasts a number of classic features, including wainscoting, wood paneling, tile floors and accents, and hardwood floors; Middle Eastern arches and, outside, a vine-covered arbor supported by ornate columns, add a nice dimension and a great deal of individuality to the property.

The home’s layout features five bedrooms, formal living room, dining room, office, and guest studio. An updated kitchen, an outdoor kitchen, patios, and a saltwater swimming pool round out a look at this very interesting home.
