Princess Yachts‘ V Class series has several new additions to the family: the V65, V60 and V50 join the existing V40, V48, V58, and V48 and V58 open models. The Plymouth, England shipyard’s V Class range maintains an admirable equipoise between speed and leisure, and cutting-edge and traditional design. Like others in the series, the three new yachts employ Princess’ Deep-V hull.
The V65, now the flagship in the series, only reinforces Princess’ reputation for fast, slick luxury watercraft. And, make no mistake, this is a fast motor yacht, capable of blistering speed; it tops out at 38 knots. A pair of Man V12’s provides the power for the yacht, and the V Class lightweight hull material provides greater efficiency and better maneuvering.
But, the V65 isn’t just a speed demon. In keeping with the design ethos of the V Class, dexterity and very amenable interiors are absolutely part of the equation. Living areas in the V65 have an open, airy feel, and an intoxicating sense of continuation. Decorative touches are at a minimum, giving the yacht, like others in the class, a distinctly minimalist, even utilitarian, feel. An abiding softness of form, and hand-craftsmanship, makes the interiors extremely comfortable.
All three new V Class motor yachts are outfitted with a formal dining area, sun pads, and aft galleries. Larger models have terraces.
The V65 can accommodate eight guests; the V60 can handle six, and the V50 four. All offer an extraordinary level of sport yachting performance for larger leisure craft.
