Legendary rock star Sammy ‘I Can’t Drive 55’ Hagar has listed his Hawaiian villa for $3.299 million. Hagar owned the home for 22 years.
The Van Halen frontman purchased the oceanfront property as a special getaway. Set on nearly 10 acres, the three-bedroom home is located right on a cliff edge in Waipio Bay. Privately tucked away, visitors must navigate a long palm-tree lined driveway to reach the small slice of paradise.
With features like vaulted wood ceilings, walls of windows, and unparalleled ocean views, the home has the feel of a classic Hawaiian cottage. Since the music legend has a passion for cooking, the kitchen is especially luxurious, with marble counters and new cabinetry, and an outside brick oven.
Additional features include a guest house, a recording studio, a pool and spa, a tiki bar, and plenty of lush vegetation like coconut and banana trees across the sprawling grounds. Hagar also added a 400-foot-deep well and a tilapia pond.
Hagar gained fame as the vocalist of the ’70s band Montrose before hitting it big as the frontman of Van Halen. The band’s classic “Halfway to Memphis” and “Mas Tequila” were composed at Hagar’s beautiful Hawaiian retreat.
