Mini has introduced a limited-edition 1499 GT created to pay homage to a classic Mini.

The 1499 GT pays tribute to the Mini 1275 GT, which was one of the automaker’s most popular vehicles in the 1970s. British design expert Roy Haynes led the project that resulted in the creation of the Mini Clubman and the Mini 1275 GT.

Now, 46 years later, the new Mini creation boasts a Twin Power turbo three-cylinder engine that makes 102 horsepower with a zero-to-60 mph leap of 10.1 seconds. But a classic Mini is not a sportscar, it’s a statement of urbanity.

The adorable vintage-inspired car is available in Midnight Black with gold side stripes, or Pepper White with black graphics. Each 1499 GT is equipped with clear indicator lenses, tinted windows, black 17” alloy wheels, Dinamica sports seats, a sports suspension, and Chilli Red stitching.

Only 1,499 of the special edition vehicles will be produced.
