A townhouse at 17 Prospect Park West in Brooklyn has just landed on the market for $14.5 million. The home’s fin-de-siecle craftsmanship is breathtaking, and the house comes with a history of celebrity ownership: American actress Jennifer Connelly and husband Paul Bettany were former owners of the historic house.

The property was last on the market in 2014, when it was listed with an asking price of just under $14 million. The limestone beauty eventually sold for $12.4 million, taking the title of the most expensive house sold in Park Slope at that time.

Built in 1899, the seven-bedroom home designed by Montrose W. Morris has been referred to as one of the most beautiful homes in the city. Details like coffered ceilings, mahogany columns and stained glass leave no question as to whether its reputation is well-founded.

The 6,500-square-foot home stretches across five floors with features like a chef’s kitchen with a marble center island, central air conditioning, five gas fireplaces, and a 600-bottle wine cellar.

In addition to Prospect Park right across the street, the property boasts a number of outdoor spaces, including a landscaped backyard with a built-in grill and two balconies.
