RED has presented a brilliant update to its flagship camera with the introduction of Weapon 8K VV.
The most exciting update is the debut of the Monstro 8K VV sensor as a replacement to the Red Dragon 8K VV. Since the company focused on upgrading its new cinematic full frame sensor, filmmakers can expect noticeable improvements in image quality.
The Monstro 8K improves greatly on dynamic range and shadow detail specifications, making the updated camera and sensor combination one of the most accurate cameras on the market. Weapon buyers will easily be able to capture 8K full format motion at up to 60 fps with full frame lens coverage.
Weapon can also produce 35.4-megapixel still images, and it utilizes ultra-fast data speeds of up to 300 MB/s.
Auteurs can get their hands on RED’s Weapon 8K VV starting at $79,500. There is also the option to upgrade to a carbon fiber edition for an additional $29,500.
