With No Buyers at $60M, Supermodel Emeritus Cindy Crawford Knocks $10M off Malibu Beach Ask

Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber first listed their most recent Malibu home almost a year ago with a price tag of $60 million. The couple recently dropped the price about 16%, to $50 million. Crawford and Gerber reportedly have about $51.5 million into the property, but are apparently determined to sell sooner rather than later.

The house dates to 1944, though the original Spanish-inflected hexagonal house is now somewhat lost in the expert revision. It’s a two-floor home, with 5,254 square feet of living space, four bedrooms, and 5.5 baths. The meter really begins to accumulate, however, when the 3.2 acre lot is factored into the equation. What results is a fairly fabulously private waterfront retreat in Encinal Bluffs.

The home is poised on a bluff overlooking the ocean, and features extensive wrap-around porch and terrace space. Sliding glass walls retract for uninterrupted beach-front living, a must-have in coastal Malibu.

The interiors look cool and unprepossessing, subdued modern with contemporary upscale cottage. Vaulted ceilings and off-white execution expound on the sense of space and abundant natural light. Hardwood and tile floors add the element of historic Malibu charm.

The property includes a pool and sunlounge, natural-looking landscaping that highlights original flora, gardens, a tennis court, and a private path winding down the bluff to the beach.

Crawford and Gerber’s last renovate-and-flip in Malibu was a traditional the couple bought in 2014 for $6 million, and sold the following year for more than $13 million. Gerber, like Crawford, began his career as a model, and is now an entertainment businessman.
