Oscar-award winning composer Mychael Danna has just spent $3.78 million on a historic Los Angeles-area home.
Located in Glendale, the 6,855-square-foot home was built in 1925 with a distinctive Italianate Revival look. The three-story residence is ensconced privately behind walls and lush vegetation on a half-acre lot.
The interior of the home is clad with Spanish baroque details like plaster walls, coffered ceilings, imported teak columns, and four fireplaces. Visitors are welcomed into a rotunda before stepping into a great room and moving on to a dining room, an expansive kitchen, and a media/screening room.
In addition to four large bedrooms and six baths, the home also has a designated game room, a library/office space, and a temperature-controlled wine cellar. The backyard is luxurious as well with fountains, gardens, courtyards, a gazebo, an alfresco dining space, and a saltwater swimming pool.
The film composer was recognized at the Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards for his work on “Life of Pi,” his third collaboration with director Ang Lee. He also composed the scores for notable films “The Sweet Hereafter” and “Capote.”
