Michael Phelps, the world’s most decorated Olympian, now has a special edition Omega watch dedicated specifically to him.
Phelps, the American swimmer who also holds the record for the most Olympic gold medals, is a lover of the Omega Brand, which is the Olympic Official Timekeeper. So it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Omega has returned the admiration, and introduced its Seamaster Planet Ocean “Michael Phelps” Limited Edition watch.
Designed to celebrate Phelps’ incredible achievements, the Swiss watchmaker based its new timepiece on its own Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph 45.5mm watch. The large stainless steel case boasts a uni-directional bezel in blue ceramic; competition is referenced by the orange rubber inlay for the first 15 minute marks.
Appropriately, Omega’s watch is water resistant up to nearly 2,000 feet, and it’s equipped with a helium escape valve. The aquatic theme is continued with the addition of blue hands, a blue 12-hour totalizer, and a blue strap.
Finished with Michael Phelps’ logo on the sapphire crystal case back, only 280 examples will be made available with a price of $9,000.
