It may be the essential question for tech brands today: how does a company keep up with the relevance arc?
Canon‘s introduction of three new camcorder options manage to tackle the tricky issue of rapid obsolescence. Each feature a 1-inch sensor that’s able to capture 4K video at 60 frames per second. Ideal for news or sports filming, all three cameras boast components like 3.5-inch articulating LCD monitors, dual SD card slots, and 15x zoom lenses.
Starting at $2,499, the Vixia GX10 is designed to be the most user-friendly of the three, making it a good choice for an amateur filmmaker. While it’s missing a special handle that the XF models include, the GX is still equipped with HDMI 2.0 for video output.
Next is the XF400, which is available for $2,999, and includes a handle with dual XLR inputs and a shotgun microphone holder.
The top-tier model is the XF405. Priced at $3,499, this model is stacked with advanced features and perfect for professionals. In addition to featuring the same handle as the XF400, the XF405 also boasts a 3G-SDI terminal for future-resistant interfacing.
