Katy Perry’s Hollywood Hills estate has hit the open market. The singer has listed the home with an asking price of $9.45 million; she purchased the property in 2013 in conjunction with an additional, adjacent house—as well as an additional lot—paying $11.2 million for both.
The property for sale encompasses 2.33 acres of the original four-acre combined lot. The main house is a mid-1950’s Mediterranean amalgam that balances Spanish-style and Italianate influences in a very Californian context.
But the property is a proper compound, and also includes a two-level guest house, a detached studio currently in use as a fitness studio, and a security guardhouse. Living spaces measure 7,418 square feet, and there are four bedrooms and five baths.
The main house is very bright, with a layout that is more open than cozy. Palladian windows and French doors allow for plentiful natural light. Interior architecture is pretty varied, with traditional represented in the sunroom, Tuscan-style fireplaces, cottage design elements, and period-style modern fixtures. Exposed raw timber beams and colorful Mediterranean tile lend a little welcome rusticity.
But the two-acre grounds are the highlight of the property. Gardens, citrus trees, a pool and lounge area, terraces and patios are all linked by walkways, giving the place a well-defined escapist retreat.
Perry’s latest studio release, this year’s ‘Witness,’ debuted at number one when it was released in June.
